How to Prepare for Your Upcoming Carpet Cleaning:
At DDS Cleaning Services, we want to make your carpet cleaning experience as smooth, safe, and effective as possible. When our team arrives with our professional equipment, we want to dive straight into making your carpets look, feel, and smell like new.
To help us achieve the deepest possible clean, we have put together a quick guide on how you can prepare your home before our arrival.
🛋️ 1. Clear the Decks (Our Furniture Policy)
For the most thorough, wall-to-wall clean, we recommend clearing as many items off the carpets as possible.
-
Remove Small Items: Please move light items like dining chairs, side tables, plants, floor lamps, and toys completely out of the rooms being cleaned.
-
Large Furniture: Our professional liability insurance does not cover the movement of large, heavy, or bulky furniture (like large wardrobes, heavy beds, or entertainment units). Because of this, we generally clean around these items.
-
Need a Hand? If there are a few items you cannot manage alone, our team is happy to assist you. However, please note that because this falls outside our standard insurance coverage, any assistance we provide to move furniture is strictly at your own risk.
🧸 2. Pick Up Toys, Clutter, and Electronics
Please do a quick sweep of the floor to pick up small items. Specifically look out for:
-
Cords and Cables: Pin up or move any loose electrical cords, phone chargers, or extension cables.
-
Breakables: Remove any fragile ornaments, glass items, or electronics from the tops of tables that might be gently bumped during the process.
-
Floor Clutter: Double-check for coins, hairpins, or small toys, as these can damage our powerful extraction machinery.
🚗 3. Secure a Parking Space
Our truck-mounted extraction system is incredibly powerful, but it requires our vehicle to be parked reasonably close to your property to run the hoses inside. If you have a driveway, keeping it clear for us is incredibly helpful. If you rely on street parking, helping us secure a spot close to your front door makes a massive difference!
🐾 4. Make Plans for Pets and Little Ones
We love pets and children, but our equipment uses high-pressure hot water and creates a bit of noise. For their safety—and to keep them from accidentally stepping on wet carpets—we kindly ask that pets and young children are safely kept in a separate, uncleaned room or looked after elsewhere while we work.
🔍 5. Point Out Problem Areas
When our technician arrives, feel free to walk them through the rooms and point out any specific areas of concern. If you know what caused a particular stain (like coffee, red wine, or ink), let us know! Knowing the source helps us choose the exact right pre-treatment solution to give us the best chance of successful removal.
Ready for Fresh Carpets?
By taking just a few minutes to prepare, you ensure our team can focus 100% of their energy on delivering the deepest, most efficient clean possible.
Thank you so much for your cooperation. We look forward to bringing your carpets back to life soon! If you have any questions before your appointment, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
